How do I enroll with a practice in iHealthSpace?

At your next visit to the practice, request an invitation to join them in iHealthSpace. You will be asked to provide your email address. If you already have an iHealthSpace account, you must provide them with your iHealthSpace username. The practice will then email you an invitation within 2 business days.

I've been invited to join a practice in iHealthSpace, what do I need?

If you've been invited to a practice to join iHealthSpace and have provided your practice with your email address or your iHealthSpace username, you need two items:

  1. Your email invitation to the practice.
  2. Your personal enrollment code letter.

Isn't there an easier way to enroll with a practice without having to go to the doctor's office?

To ensure that the right patient is linked with the correct medical record, we are taking extra care linking patients and their iHealthSpace accounts with their medical records at this early point. We are investigating ways to streamline this process; we hope to have an update for you soon.

What is my "personal enrollment code"?

Your personal enrollment code is a unique code the practice will hand or mail to you when are invited to link or enroll with the practice in iHealthSpace. This code allows you to connect securely with your practice in iHealthSpace. You will be asked to enter this enrollment code exactly as it appears, including all uppercase and lowercase letters after you click the link within your email invitation to the practice. After you've successfully linked with the practice, dispose of the letter containing this code as you would other private information (e.g bank statements, old credit cards).

I don't have or lost my personal enrollment code I was given by the practice.

You may call the issuing practice and request to have another code sent to you. You may also click on the "Contact Us" link at www.ihealthspace.org to let us know. Another code will be mailed to your home address on record at your doctor's office. For security reasons, this code will be sent by U.S. mail to your address on record at the MGH and cannot be provided over the phone.

I never received the email invitation from the practice.

Possible explanations for this may be:

  1. The email invitation was sent to your email "spam" folder. Please look in this folder to see if you can find the invitation.
  2. The staff in the practice has not sent this email to you yet. If you don't receive your email invitation within 2 business days from the day you provided your email, please call the practice to have then re-send your email invitation. You may use the same personal enrollment code to activate this enrollment invitation.
  3. Known issue with Yahoo! email. There have been rare reports among Yahoo! email users that some email from iHealthSpace may not be received. If you use Yahoo! email and did not receive your email invitation despite more than one attempt, please let us know using the "Feedback" link. This issue is known issue with Yahoo! email and is outside of our control; you may need to consider using another email address until this issue is resolved.

My email invitation expired before I had a chance to enroll with the practice.

For security reasons, email invitations to iHealthSpace are set to expire 30 days from the date of issue. If your invitation has expired, please call the practice to have them send you another invitation. You may use the same personal enrollment code to activate this enrollment invitation.

I've given my email to my doctor's office and I'm having trouble signing up for an account.

You may contact your doctor's office or let us know where you're having trouble through our "Contact Us" link. We will make every effort to reply within one business day.

Why must my enrollment code be mailed?

We know it's a pain to wait for the enrollment code to be mailed to your home to complete your enrollment with a practice, but we want to make sure that we tie the right iHealthSpace account to the right record here at the hospital.

Accept an invitation to enroll with a practice in iHealthSpace

I'm new to iHealthSpace.

  1. Open your email invitation.
  2. Select the link inside the email message.
  3. Selecting this link will open your default browser window to a special, customized registration page in iHealthSpace. Enter your enrollment code from the practice and select "Find registration info".
  4. Your first name, last name, date of birth and gender information will be automatically populated from your records in the practice. First name, last name and date of birth are required. Edit any items that are incorrect. Select "Continue" when you're done.
  5. Registration Step 2. Enter your username, password. Select a secret question and enter your secret answer. Please remember this answer, as you will need it if you ever forget your password!
  6. Review the Terms of Use, scroll through to the bottom, print it out if you wish and then select "Submit".
  7. You're officially registered and enrolled with the practice!

I'm already enrolled with another practice at the MGH

  1. Open the email invitation for the practice
  2. Select the link inside the email message
  3. Selecting this link will open the main iHealthSpace login page that has been encoded with this enrollment
  4. Log-in to iHealthSpace as usual
  5. You will be directed to a special activation page. Click the "Activate" button.
  6. You're all set!
